This piece is my submission for the second volume of The Enigmatic Monster Project — a fascinating program that is the brain-child of a personal friend — which is inspired by the song Pompeii by Bastille, the plot and theme of the film Pacific Rim by Guillermo del Toro, and Benedict Cumberbatch's rendition of Smaug in the hit theatrical release of The Desolation of Smaug, directed by Peter Jackson and based upon the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
